lipo 360 recovery questions and answers

Table of Contents

Lipo 360, is an all-inclusive liposuction procedure that can be used to contour and shape the middle section of the body. Commonly used to treat areas of the body such as the upper and lower abdominals, the flanks on both sides of the abdomen and the lower and mid-back, Lipo 360 is completed by using a medical-grade vacuum to target and suction fat from these specific areas. A laser or traditional liposuction are sometimes used during the same procedure, to achieve desired results.

One of the most profound benefits of Lipo 360 is that there isn’t usually the need for general anesthesia during the procedure. A mild sedative may be given to keep the patient comfortable. It only takes a few days to recover from Lipo 360, and you can get back to your normal activities.

Common Lipo 360 recovery questions

If you’re interested in learning more about the recovery associated with Lipo 360, here are some of the most commonly asked questions that we encounter from our patients.

1. How long does swelling last after Lipo 360?

Swelling is inevitable with any surgical or cosmetic procedure, but you’ll find that Lipo 360 only causes extreme swelling for about one week before it subsides. A mild amount of swelling may still persist for about four to six weeks before you can see the final results of your procedure.

2. Can I sleep on my side after Lipo 360?

Once you arrive home from your Lipo 360 procedure, you should get comfortable in your bed and rest to promote recovery. You can sleep in any position that is comfortable to you, so feel free to curl up on your side if that works. You may want to utilize some additional pillows to provide comfort to any sore or sensitive parts of the body.

3. How long do you drain after Lipo 360?

Once your procedure is completed, there are drains that will be placed in the body to help prevent fluid buildup and promote a faster healing time. These drains will usually be removed anywhere from five to ten days after your operation. The sutures may also need to be removed, or you may have dissolvable sutures that disappear on their own. You can expect a little bit of bruising in these areas.

4. How long do you wear faja after Lipo 360?

A Faja is a tight-fitting garment that can be worn for a number of reasons. It’s often used as a post-surgical garment. The compression that is applied can help control any bruising and swelling that may take place. It can also help to shape and mold your body while you’re recovering.

You will usually be asked to start wearing this garment after your drains have been removed. You may wear it for up to four weeks, depending on the amount of work that you had done.

5. How long does it take to heal after Lipo 360?

The first few days following your Lipo 360 procedure will be the most uncomfortable. This is when you’ll experience swelling, bruising and some pain. Your doctor should advise you regarding what you can do for those issues once you’re home. Most patients stay in bed for a couple of days before they feel well enough to get up and move around. It can take anywhere from one to four weeks before you can return to all of your regular activities. It’s important that you listen to your body, and don’t try to push yourself if you’re not feeling ready to incorporate certain things back into your routine.

6. How long after Lipo 360 can I work out?

You’ll be able to move your body a little bit within the first few days of having Lipo 360 performed. You may need to wait four weeks before you can incorporate rigorous physical activity into your daily routine again. This includes things like running on a treadmill or elliptical, swimming and hiking.

7. When can I go back to work after Lipo 360?

As long as your job doesn’t require you to do any kind of heavy lifting or strenuous activity, you should be able to return to work after a few days following your Lipo 360 procedure. If your job is rather sedentary, then you can get back to work as soon as you’re feeling mentally alert and comfortable enough to focus.

8. Can you get pregnant after Lipo 360?

It is your choice whether or not you want to get pregnant after a Lipo 360 procedure. If you gain weight during your pregnancy but lose the weight once the baby is born, you may see your liposuction results return rather quickly. It’s important that you remain moderately active during your pregnancy, and then utilize a healthy diet and exercise to get back in shape once you have healed during the postpartum phase.
