Exact placement of your implant will be determined based on the size of the implant you’ve chosen, your body composition, and other factors that will be addressed during your consultation period.
Once the implants have been placed, your surgeon will close the incisions with sutures, surgical tape, or skin adhesive. While every attempt is made to create minimal scarring that will fade dramatically over time, every patient’s healing journey is different. Genetics, your medical history, and other factors all impact your body’s ability to heal scar tissue following surgery.
Results of breast augmentation can be seen immediately. However, patients can expect to experience swelling and tenderness for several weeks following surgery. It often takes up to six months for implant results to reach their peak. It’s normal to experience pain and discomfort for several days following surgery. Patients are advised to take one to two weeks off from work, exercise, or any activity that would cause them to engage in strenuous activity. You may also be instructed to wear compression garments during your recovery.
